The players, coaches and directors have visited different hospitals as part of the Foundation's "Dream as a Gift" campaign
After making hundreds of children happy this morning in the open-doors training session at the Miniestadi, the first team continued to bring delight to their younger supporters in the afternoon by visiting children in hospitals. For one day, the players left their boots behind, and instead acted as the three kings, delivering gifts and smiles to hospitalised children, all part of the Foundation’s ‘Dream as a Gift’ campaign that seeks to ensure that no child is left without a present on January 6, the traditional day for giving presents in Catalonia.
The players went to hospitals in Barcelona and Badalona and also to the Saló de la Infància, and were joined by members of the coaching staff and the board of directors, as well as representatives of the FCB Foundation.
First time for Neymar and Martino
This was a new experience for Neymar and Tata Martino. Their destination was Hospital de Sant Joan de Déu along with Adriano, Alexis and Elvio Paolorosso, where they were also accompanied by Lola Bou, the vice president of the Foundation and Eduard Sans, one of its patrons.
Meanwhile, Hospital de Sant Pau was visited by Pinto, Messi, Mascherano and Jorge Pautasso, as well as director Dídac Lee. At Vall d’Hebron, Cesc Fàbregas, Afellay, Jordi Alba, Iniesta and Jordi Roura brought smiles to the children accompanied by Enric Roca, patron of the Foundation.
Down in Badalona, Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol welcomed Piqué, Cuenca and goalkeeping coachJosé Ramón de la Fuente, as well as another patron of the Foundation, Mohamed Chaib. At Hospital de Barcelona the guests were Sergio Busquets, Jonathan dos Santos and coach Aureli Altimira, as well as vice president Josep Maria Bartomeu. Valdés, Oier Olazábal, physio Paco Seirul·lo and Supporters Club Commission director Elvira Pou paid a visit to Hospital de Nens de Barcelona.
The children at Casa Ronald McDonald were given a surprise visit by Xavi, Pedro, Sergi Roberto and coach Edu Pons. They were joined by director Josep Ramon Vidal-Abarca. At Cottolengo Padre Alegre the visitors were Bartra, Song and Joan Francesc Ferrer ‘Rubi’, along with director Pilar Guinovart.
There were also Barça players in the Saló de la Infància, at the FC Barcelona Foundation stand. Tello,Montoya and coach Francesc Cos visited the children that were there this Friday, accompanied by the director general of the Foundation, Josep Cortada, and the vice president of the Foundation, Ramon Palou.
