Nigerians are world’s heaviest users of ATMs - Report

According to a recently released study by EY, a global business and financial advisory firm, Nigerian bank customers have been rated the heaviest users of Automated Teller Machines in the world. The study also rated Nigeria as one of the top three countries whose bank customers use social media when making decisions on selecting a financial service provider. The study also shows that Nigerian bank customers have the highest banking sensitivity and are the second highest globally to close accounts based on poor experience.

18-year-old Ana Rosa Mora (pictured above) has been arrested for killing her own child because the the new born looked like her ex-boyfriend. Ana wrapped her baby in a bag and left him outside to die because she feared the child looked like her ex-boyfriend and her current boyfriend would leave her.

The Chicago Tribune reports that the teen gave birth last weekend and attended school on Monday after allegedly committing the act and even showed staff members pictures of a newborn girl that she claimed she downloaded from the Internet.

Oyindamola Johnson, popularly known as Dammy Krane, is not a new name in the entertainment industry as he has been able to carve a niche for himself with his fusion of Fuji with hip-hop. His ability to thrill with his dance steps has also contributed to his quick acceptance by music buffs in Nigeria.

The Hypertek Records artiste, who recently reunited with his mother, has expressed his hatred for tattoo, stating that his body is a temple that should be kept clean.

“When people ask me why I do not have tattoo, I tell them that you cannot scratch a Bentley. I believe my body is the temple of God, a holy place and I have to treat it with respect. I have to keep it clean.”

Dammy Krane added that growing up with his grandmother made him a disciplined and a better person in life.

Breaking News: Abducted Schoolgirls Seen Around Gwoza In Borno – Reports

The school girls who were abducted by the Boko Haram sect have reportedly been seen around Gwoza, Borno on Monday, April 28, 2014.

New reports just reaching splendinho from ENDS.ng have it that the 200 missing girls were seen being hustled around in about seven buses in South Borno, in the Gwoza-Bama axis.

Security sources yesterday said the military has already identified the various camps in which the girls are being held, but is being cautious about executing a full onslaught against their captors, in order to avoid collateral damage.

Barcelona's players have visited the area set aside by the club for tributes to former coach Tito Vilanova, who died on Friday.

Vilanova, who served as assistant to Pep Guardiola before taking charge of first-team affairs at Camp Nou, passed away at the age of 45 following a lengthy battle with throat cancer. 
After succeeding Guardiola for the 2012-13 season, Vilanova guided the club to the league title with a club-record haul of 100 points.

Former Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has died at the age of 45, the club have confirmed, after unsuccessful emergency surgery.

The ex-central midfielder was admitted to hospital following a downturn in his health which required an operation on his stomach on Thursday, with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu confirming the trainer was "fighting" for his life.

However, Vilanova, whose post-playing career has been tragically plagued by cancer, was unable to battle any longer and passed away on Friday afternoon.

The World Health Organisation had placed a global ban on the use of chloroquine and Artesunate in 2005.
Nigerians have been advised against the use of Chloroquine and Artesunate for the treatment of malaria.
Nnenna Ezeigwe, National Coordinator, National Malaria Control Programme, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in Abuja.
She, however, recommended that people should take only Artemisinin Combination Therapy, ACTs, when they test positive for malaria.

For allegedly duping a prospective businessman of N1.2 million, an Islamic cleric, Abdullakeem Sulaimon, was on Friday arraigned in an Ota Senior Magistrates’ Court in Ogun.
Mr. Sulaimon, 33, who lives at No. 16, Joju St., Sango Ota, is standing trial on a three-count charge of obtaining by false pretence, stealing and conspiracy.

A two-storey building under construction on Sea Beach lane at Oworonsoki, a suburb in Lagos state collapsed Yesterday April 24th leaving 4 children and 6 adults with various degrees of injury. Reports say the children were on the site to help with menial jobs when the building gave way.

The Federal Road Safety Corps said on Thursday that age falsification had created the need for birth certificates to be part of requirements for the issuance of the new national driving licence.
The Lagos State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Chidi Nkwonta, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that the development was part of the corps’ effort at ensuring that licences were issued only to qualified applicants.
“The requirement of birth certificate as part of the criteria for the issuance of driver’s licence has always been there, it is not a new requirement.
“We are now enforcing it because we discovered that applicants are abusing the column for the birth information, they just sit down and write any date.

Women in Borno State have  accused President Goodluck Jonathan of not doing enough to secure the release of the over 200  girls  abducted from the Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok by Boko Haram insurgents.
The women, who at a news conference in Maiduguri, vowed to go into the Sambisa forest in search of the schoolgirls, said if Jonathan’s child had been abducted, the story would have been different.
They wondered why security agents had not been able to locate and free the girls more than a week after they were forcibly taken away from their hostel in the school.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), on Wednesday, said it had concluded plans to stage a nationwide protest over what it described as government’s insensitivity to its lingering strike.
The National President of the union, Dr Chibuzo Asomugha, told newsmen in Abuja that the protest would take place on April 29.
This is coming on the heels of Kebbi State chapter of the union’s decision on Tuesday to call off the 10-month old strike.
Asomugha said failure by the Federal Government to meet the demands of ASUP and the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) and the consequent shutdown of the nation’s public polytechnics and colleges of education was worrisome.
“In fact, we are planning for the protest on April 29 and if it doesn’t come up on the 29th, then it would be immediately after May Day.

A man in Benin City, Edo State, who succeeded in fooling people into thinking he was mad, has turned out to be a ritual killer who specializes in selling human parts.

He was allegedly arrested around the Upper Sokponba road area of Benin with human parts, a gun, and N4 million cash.

The man, whose identity has not been revealed yet, had reportedly lived in a run down apartment for about two years, pretending to be a mad man.
