NFF to vacate Glass House before Brazil 2014
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will finally move their permanent site after 68 years of its inception, before the 2014 FIFA World Cup kicks off.
The new complex is located beside the FIFA Technical Centre and football turf, inside the package B of the Abuja National Stadium and was inaugurated on February 21 by President Goodluck Jonathan.

We used the $500million Abacha loot to develop rural areas – Okonjo-Iweala
The Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Minister for the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has explained that the $500M recovered Abacha loot was used to develop the nation’s rural areas.
The Minister was reacting to a recent article by one Sonala Olumhense who alleged that $2.5 billion was recovered from the funds looted by the then maximum ruler, Gen. Sani Abacha but that the money disappeared under the Minister’s watch.
Explaining how the huge amount was spent, the Minister said $500M, not $2.5 billion was recovered and had been spent on development projects in rural areas as agreed with the Swiss government.
A statement by Mr. Paul Nwabikwu, Special Adviser to the Minister said that the claims by Mr. Olumhense were unverified and baseless.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared Seun Ogunbambo wanted. Ogunbambo is standing trial for allegedly obtaining almost N 1 billion fraudulently as fuel subsidy.
The declaration came via a statement signed the Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren.

Holy Cow!!! Five-Legged Animal Tours India to Bring Good Luck to People Who Touch Its Extra Limb
These extraordinary pictures show a five-legged cow, whose extra limb is rather bizarrely attached to its neck.
Many believe the four-year-old animal brings good luck to whoever touches the extra limb – with some claiming it is a manifestation of a Hindu deity.
Owner Laxman Bhosale, 35, tours the country with the animal – with hundreds regularly turning out to catch a glipse of the creature.
Laxman said: ‘Cow is our holy animal. We call her our mother. With this extra limb, God is indicating to us that we must respect the animal and seek her blessings.
‘Touching the limb of mother cow will bring good luck and help you fulfill all your wishes.’
After setting off last July from his home in Solapur, Maharastra, where he owns a cow shelter, Mr Bhosale’s journey has seen him visit six states and 15 major cities.

Family members of Joseph Vallenti, 96, say they found a dead rat in the man’s birthday cake.
Neil Gold, who is dating Vallenti’s niece, told ABC-7 that the family bought Vallenti his favorite cake for the celebration — a German apple ring cake from King Kullen grocery store in Commack, New York.
Vallenti noted that the cake didn’t “taste right.” After eating it, he suffered from stomach pains and diarrhea, according to the New York Post. Gold investigated and says he saw what appear to be a rat’s tail protruding from the confection.

EME Singer Niyola Survives 3rd Mainland Bridge Auto Accident
First Lady of EME records, Eniola ‘Niyola’ Akinbo survived a ghastly auto accident.
According to Nigerian Entertainment Today, Niyola was driving from Lekki, Lagos, where she had just finished a meeting, in a Honda CRV on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at about 7PM. Niyola had just exited the third mainland bridge on her way to the mainland area of Lagos when the accident occurred at the Oworonshoki axis.
A vehicle which was trying to overtake Niyola’s car hit her CRV from behind, which sent the latter’s car tumbling. The car is said to have tumbled three times before hitting a tree by the roadside.
The EME first lady was immediately taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. The Honda CRV has also been towed away from the accident spot.
A rep of the singer’s has confirmed the accident and also confirmed that the singer wasn’t driving alone but with a friend. The other passenger is said to also be doing fine.
‘Yes, it’s true. But she’s okay. It’s unbelievable that they survived,’ the rep said.

Mother burns 11-yr-old daughter’s buttocks with hot knife!
A middle aged woman, Ene Edem Okon, has been arrested by the police for allegedly inflicting bodily harm and tying her 11-year-old daughter, Queeneth Ene Edem, hands and legs for being wayward. She was arrested when Queeneth appeared in her school, Government Primary School, Akim, with multiple wounds on her chest, stomach and buttocks prompting the school authorities to report the matter to the police at the Akim Police Station.
The girl narrated to Sunday Vanguard that, on February 17, she left home at Eneyo village in Akpabuyo Local Government Area for the Maternity Junction Settlement, some four kilometers away from home, to meet her cousin, one Blessing, but did not return home. “We were waiting for Blessing’s friend from whom she wanted to collect something but she delayed in coming and we waited till night and, because we were afraid of going back home, we slept in an uncompleted building at the Maternity Junction”, she said.
The 11-year-old said the next day, one of her friends saw her at the Maternity Junction and told her that her mother was looking for her with a machete after which she became afraid to go back home. “We stayed on the road near our house and were breaking kernel to eat when my mother sent somebody to come and catch us. That person came pretending to play with us but suddenly grabbed me and dragged me to my mother”.
The mother, angry, allegedly got hold of her and used a rod to hit her all over her body, thus leaving her with severe wounds. “She also put the kitchen knife in the fire she was cooking and when it was hot, she placed it on my buttocks”, the girl stated.
When Sunday Vanguard met Mrs Ene Okon at the Akim Police Station, she appeared remorseful, stating that she was driven by anger because Queeneth was stubborn and had formed the habit of spending the night outside at such a tender age. “I sent her to school in far away Calabar because I don’t trust the school here in Akpabuyo but she is just too stubborn, so I had to teach her a lesson.”
Mr Hogan Bassey, the police spokesman for Cross River Police Command, said the woman would appear in court after investigations are concluded.
Mr Bassey Ibor, a child rights activist, said children’s courts in the state are not functioning and called on the state government to fund the courts. “The cases we have taken to the children’s courts have suffered long adjournments because the judges are not sitting. Government should, as a matter of urgency, ensure that the courts are funded so that these children would not continue to be denied of justice.”
Police arrest 7 armed robbery suspects including father, 2 sons
The Delta State Police Command in Asaba on Saturday said it had arrested seven men, including a father and his two sons, for alleged armed robbery.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, stated this while briefing newsmen at the “B” Division Asaba.
She said the suspects’ arrest was based on the alert to the security agents by their victim, who was robbed of N72,000 in the early hours of Saturday.
Kalu also noted that the gang leader, of the same family, fled with the money stolen from the victim on sighting the police.
She said that the father of the armed robbery suspects, who gave accommodation to the criminals in his house, was also arrested for attacking the police officers.
According to the PPRO, the victim, Mr Emmanuel Ebudike, residing in Asaba, alleged that a gang of armed robbers broke into his house and carted away N72,000 at gun point.
“The victim also alleged that he trailed the robbers to an uncompleted storey building and came back to call the police.
“When the police arrived the scene three of the armed robbery suspects jumped down and ran away.
“Another with a locally-made pistol fired at the police and in a gun duel, two of the gang members were brought down,” she said.
Kalu said that the suspects had confessed to robbing seven different persons of their cell phones and money at Achalla-Ibusa Road in Ibusa on Friday.
She said that items recovered from the suspects included one locally-made pistol with one live cartridge, one IPad phone, six cell phones and two unregistered Toyota Sienna cars.
Kalu said that Police investigations were on, while efforts were being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects and to recover other stolen items. (NAN)

Moyes: Manchester United don't need to be the best to win Champions League

Manchester United manager David Moyes believes his side can win the Champions League this season despite their poor domestic form.
The reigning Premier League holders have put up a limp defence of their title, and are currently 15 points adrift of leaders Chelsea and scrapping just to finish in the top four.
With their chances of qualifying for Europe's premier club competition dwindling, United's best hope of retaining their Champions League status could be to win the tournament – with their march towards the final getting back underway against Olympiakos on Tuesday.
Moyes is hoping to take inspiration from Liverpool, who won the Champions League despite finishing just fifth domestically almost a decade ago, and says his side do not have to be the best to beat the best.
“It isn’t always the best teams that get to the final in Europe,” the United manager told reporters. “Liverpool in 2005 gives us hope, but in any cup competition you always have a chance.
“I knew it was going to be a hard competition before it started. Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG are all top clubs.”
Similarly to Liverpool, Chelsea, then managed by Roberto Di Matteo, finished only 6th in the Premier League but overcame the odds to win the Champions League in 2012, and Moyes knows anything can happen in football.

The Republic of Congo Boasts of Men with the Longest Manhood in the World
In the research covering 113 nationalities by German Richard Lynn, emeritus professor of psychology at Ulster University, the men of the Republic of Congo lead the pack with 7.1 inches.
They are followed by Ecuadorean men at 7 inches, Ghanaians at 6.8 inches and the Colombians at 6.7 inches.
A report by the Mail of the UK citing the report noted that British men typically have bigger penises than their French neighbours – but are less well endowed than the Germans.
In Europe, the research shows, Icelanders are the best endowed at 6.5 inches and the Irish are the second smallest at 5.03 inches behind only Romanians at 5.01 inches, the report says.
