Nigerian Soldiers Triumphed Over Boko Haram In Biu, Killed Dozens

Soldiers of the Nigeria Army in Borno State yesterday triumphantly walked over corpses of slain Boko Haram terrorists after a heated gun battle between them and the insurgents at a village near Biu town, security sources said.

Boko Haram had early yesterday morning attacked the towns of Yimirshika, Shaffa and Azare but did not see victims to kill as the residents had fled after learning of the impending invasion.

The terrorists, according to a spokesman of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Muhammed Gava, who were disappointed by the situation, decided to march on towards Biu town, driving in two trucks, but they were killed to the last man by soldiers who lay in ambush for them.

Gava narrated what happened: “After failing to achieve their evil mission in Yimirshika, Shaffa, Azare villages of Hawul local government area, they decided to drive towards Biu, but unknown to them, the soldiers in Biu Barracks, who had mobilized, waited in ambush in Azare where they engaged them with heavy shootout that left not a single one of them alive.”

The source said the two Toyota Hilux vans the insurgents came in and other assault rifles were recovered by the military.

A top security officer in Maiduguri who spoke to LEADERSHIP on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to speak to the press confirmed the report.
