Sun News Online is reporting a shocking case of how two policemen were stabbed yesterday in the Alakija area of Lagos metropolis as they tried to drive an insane woman away fromthe premises of a popular pentecostal church.

Ebola: FG Suspends Airline Operations From Liberia, Sierra Leone

The Federal Government has ordered the suspension of flight operations from Liberia and Sierra Leone into Nigerian. Benedict Adeyileka, the Acting Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, (NCAA) who made this announcement yesterday said the regulatory authority had to take this action to protect Nigeria from the deadly Ebola virus which is ravaging some parts of West, East and Central Africa.

The arrest of a 10-year-old girl, suspected to be a suicide bomber in Katsina State has been announced by the Chairman, National Information Centre, Mr. Mike Omeri. And according to Omeri, the little girl was among three suspected Boko Haram members that were arrested on Tuesday night. She had a belt strapped with explosives at the time of her arrest.

Former Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai just posted this on his social media pages. His young son, Hamza El-Rufai  died this morning in Abuja after a car crash. OMG. Just three months ago, Nasir lost his daughter, Zainab El-Rufai Mohammed. She had died from complications related to sickle cell anaemia.

Cameroon Rescues Vice PM’s Wife Kidnapped by Boko Haram



Security operatives in Cameroon have rescued wife of Vice Prime Minister Amadou Ali who was kidnapped by the Boko Haram sect on Sunday along with a traditional ruler of Kolofata town, reports BBC Hausa Service.
The reports say that 16 people lost their lives in the rescue operations, although Cameroon information minister Issa Tchiroma Bakary said government was still investigating the matter to ascertain the actual number of people killed.

The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Public Health, Dr Yewande Adeshina, in a briefing noted that the 40 year old Liberian is in a private hospital in the Obalende area of the State. And that the hospital housing the Liberian has been cordoned off and the victim isolated.

116 Passengers on board Missing Algerian Plane Feared Dead as Plane Wreckage is Found


The fate of the Air Algerie flight which vanished with 116 people on board en route from Burkina Faso to Algiers appears to have been uncovered after Mali's President confirmed wreckage has been found.

 Ibrahim Boubacar Keita said today that the wreckage of the flight had been spotted in his country's desert north.

A powerful bomb blast ripped through a central park in Kano today and according to the police, a woman was killed and eight others were injured.
 
The police spokesperson for Kano State, Magaji Majiya, said the explosion was caused by a bomb that targeted travelers at the Sabon Gari park. The bomber hid it inside a fridge and placed the fridge on a cart, and detonated it close to a luxurious bus at about 3:00 pm (1500 GMT) at the New Motor Park.

Two explosions have ripped through the northern Nigeria city of Kaduna, killing dozens of people.
According to reports, the first explosion targeted moderate Islamic cleric Dahiru Bauchi. A source who gave his name Hassan Mohammed told PremiumTimes that the bomb, concealed in a red Volkswagen golf car parked by the road side, was detonated as the Muslim cleric convoy drove past.

27 year old Madonna Student Arrested for Alleged Murder of 87 year-old Father

The Abia state police command has paraded, among others, a 27 year old undergraduate of Madonna University, Chijioke Ezebuiro, for allegedly killing his 87 year old father, Dr Emmanuel Ezebuiro.

Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia, NigerianTribune reports that the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Geoffrey Ogbonna, who paraded the suspect alongside other cultists and robbers, said that Chijioke Ezebuiro  is the prime suspect as he was the only person in the house at the time of his late father’s death.

A teenage Russian girl and her lover both hanged themselves from the same rope in a tree after they discovered that she was pregnant.

DailyMail reports that Irina Korovina, 14, and her lover Anatoly Maslov, 22, died and were found hanging from the same rope from the same branch. Their hands were still wrapped around each other, as tactile in death as they were in life.

Couple Dupe Victims N20m in Fake Auction Sales


The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a couple, Mr. Danladi Wushishi, and Mrs. Ojuolape Wushishi, for allegedly duping unsuspecting victims to the tune of N20m in fake auction sales in Lagos.

PUNCH Metro reports that while Ojuolape was arrested on Wednesday, June 18, at Odeogbolu Street, Ijegun, Danladi, was apprehended at Allen Avenue on Friday, June 25. The couple were arrested after a petition was sent to the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, from one of the victims, Mrs. Chinyere Uzorchukwu, who was allegedly duped by the couple to the tune of N5m.
The Special Anti-Robbery Squad operatives had subsequently gone on the trail of the couple and arrested them.

NSCDC Arrests Men Caught with Corpse of 3-year-old Girl


The Abia State’s command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested two men, Chibuike Anibuife and Jonathan Nwogu, allegedly caught with a dead baby girl in a sack.

Punch reports that the state’s Commandant, Mr. Andy Dateer, said they were arrested by NSCDC men on patrol at Ariaria Junction, Osisioma near Aba. The suspects were intially intercepted by some residents who wanted to lynch them after the discovery of the corpse of the little girl, but the NSCDC whisked the suspects away to prevent them from being lynched by the mob.

Men of the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC have rescued over 20 young pregnant women in a baby factory it discovered at Umunkpeyi in Isiala Ngwa South LGA, following a tip off.

Parading the rescued women and some of the workers in the baby factory, the state commandant of NSCDC, Andy Dateer, said the baby factory is named Nma Charity and Motherless Babies’ Home,  and that the owner who is now at-large, brings in men to impregnate the girls. He said after delivery, the babies are sold, and the mothers paid peanuts.

He said three children under the age of two, who were being prepared for sale, were rescued while four ‘social workers’ and four men were arrested in the raid. More Pics Below........

The suspect, Ugwu Lawrence (pictured) who was tracked by security operatives after dispatching text messages of impending bombings of some hotels in Abuja, confessed that he employed the gimmick because the management of one of the organisation failed to offer him employment.

A German national simply identified as Mr Fisch has been abducted by gunmen in Gombi town in Adamawa state. According to Premium Times, Mr Fisch, who runs a free of charge technical school in Adamawa state was said to be on his way to work when he was abducted around 7am this morning around the Anguwan Faransa area of the town. A resident of the area said the gunmen laid a siege on the man's house and accosted him as he came out of his house to enter his car

In a letter sent to the House of Representatives this morning, President Jonathan asked the Rep members to approve a request for an external loan of $1billion (about N165billion) which would be used to upgrade the equipment of the Armed Forces in the fight of the insurgent group, Boko Haram. The letter was read this morning during the house plenary session.
