Afro-pop superstar Iyanya celebrated his
birthday today with a visit to Ikoyi Prisons.
The singer who just turned 27 was welcomed warmly by the DCP Bamidele and the community; he proceeded into the correctional facility where he spoke with the inmates.
Highlights of the visit included his
performance with the talented intimates;
Iyanya also pledged to build a recording
studio in the establishment for the musically inclined inmates.

Chelsea booked their place in the last eight of the League Cup with a comfortable 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates.

Goals from Cesar Azpilicueta and Juan Mata gave Jose Mourinho’s side a convincing victory at the home of their London rivals as Arsene Wenger’s search for his first win over the Portuguese continues. 
After complaining about the scheduling of the tie Mourinho made no less than 10 changes from the side that defeated Manchester City on Sunday, with Gary Cahill the sole survivor. Wenger also made changes from the team he had fielded at the weekend, with Nicklas Bendtner and Ryo Miyaichi coming in for Olivier Giroud and Mesut Ozil.

If you call him a jinx breaker, you are not far from the truth. The reason is that many students had tried to graduate from the University of Ilorin with a first class degree in Law for many years, but they failed for one reason or the other. Finally, on Tuesday, however, Abiodun Kazeem achieved the feat, drawing accolades from many people.

Kazeem studied Common and Islamic Law at the institution, which became a full fledged university in 1976. Achieving this feat, according to him, is something he will always cherish. But he never forgets to note that his march through the system was a tough one.

The supervising Minister of Education, Nyeson Wike had thought that it would be a piece of cake for him to go into a discussion with the leadership of ASUU and come out smiling after a compromise, but was shocked at the recent meeting in Abuja when it became obvious that ASUU is very serious.

His plan to use the resolution of the strike to lobby President Jonathan to make a full Minister of Education has does suffered a serious set back. It doesn't seem that would happen anytime soon and it appears ASUU and its leadership are not ready to accept anything less.

The police in Lagos State have commenced investigation into how a nine-year-old girl died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape.
According to police authorities, the deceased was molested over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended.

He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems.
The 77-year-old man said his daughter died on October 3, 2013.
He said, “Up until my daughter’s death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her honeypot, stomach area. We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital.

What has worked for you in the industry; your talent or beauty?
I will say both. Before then I used to look at myself in the mirror and tell myself 'Crystal, you are beautiful'. I am beautiful. I am well-shaped. I have straight legs. I decided to come into the industry, not just with my physical attributes but also because of my talents.

In Nollywood, you may be beautiful but if you are not talented you can't get any where but I thank God I have everything. The talent, the beauty, the figure and everything. In Nollywood, beauty and talent goes hand in hand.

What about your embarrassing moments? 
The one I can remember happened when I was still looking to have a shot at acting. Then, I reported at a location and the producer gave me a note where he instructed me to meet him at a hotel room. I felt so embarrassed.

The leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress has threatened to call a nationwide industrial action if the Federal Government failed to stop the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

The NLC in a communiqué issued at the end of its National Executive Committee meeting in Kaduna, on Wednesday, said that it was unfortunate that the government had not taken the expected steps to stop the ongoing strike that had crippled academic activities in public universities.

The President of the NLC, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar and the Acting General Secretary of the Congress, Mr. Chris Uyot, accused the Federal Government of sponsoring protests against ASUU instead of resolving the lingering crisis.

Nigerians are seriously angry over Edo State's governor hosting of BBA winner, Dilish.

Since the BBA winner won big show prize, she never stepped into the soil of Nigeria until recently when she got invited by the hard-working Edo State governor, comrade Adams Oshiomole.

It was reported over the weekend that the winner of BBA The Chase, Dillish came into Nigeria and was hosted by the Governor of Edo State, Gov.

Dillish announced on twitter that she's in Nigeria, it was surprising that even the press didn't know of her coming. she was given a Queen's reception and also made richer by the Governor.

Meanwhile, some Nigerians are not too pleased with the governor's action and gone to social media to vent their anger.

The Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun, Dr David Oyedepo, said on Monday that the institution would be among the top 10 universities in the world by 2022.

Oyedepo made the remark at the institution’s 11th Founder’s Day celebration in Ota.

According to him, the university has since inception in 2002, focused on actualising its mandate, which is primarily to raise leaders who will change the world.

It's not fake. He's real...and he's the first! Frank, the 'bionic man' is 6 feet and weighs 170 lbs. His face is made of synthetic parts and modeled after Bertolt Meyer, a social psychologists from the University of Zurich in Switzerland. Meyer thought it was awkward when he first saw his replica. Meyer will also be hosting the documentary created to show the making of Frank and shed insight on the bionic man.

Kanye jokingly asked "White Jesus, is that you?… Oh, shit!".
The new father removed his white headpiece and proclaimed he'd been looking for Jesus the whole show.
Later, Kanye and his female back-up dancers bowed to the Jesus look-alike as he stood on the mountain top.
Mock Christ then replied that he'd been there all along, and West sang his 2004 single Jesus Walks.

A British scientific expedition to a remote rainforest in Papua New Guinea has discovered a new species of giant rat.
The Bosavi woolly rat is the size of a small domestic cat, weighing about 1.5 kilograms and measuring 82 centimetres in length from its nose to its tail.
It was discovered in the crater formed by the extinct volcano, Mount Bosavi.
Experts say the rat is the same as those found in any city’s sewers, only bigger.
Gordon Buchanan set up the infra-red camera which provided the first images of the animal.
“This is the biggest true rat in the world – unbelievable,” he said.

According to E!Online, Kim has lost at least 25lbs (or more than 11kgs) since her pregnancy, but people online do not seem too convinced Kim captured in the photoshoot is a true photograph of the 32-year-old mum. "Photoshopped to the MAX!" and "Airbrushed to high heaven" were some of the comments posted on UK's Daily Mail.
Kim Kardashian has released the official first shots of her post baby bod in a new photoshoot she and her sisters did for their new clothing line – Kardashian Kollection.
And it looks like Kim has no bit of pregnancy weight on her anymore as she poses in skin tight dresses.
The photos were taken by photographer Terry Richardson, same photographer that recently came under fire for directing Miley Cyrus’ salacious Wrecking Ball video.
E!Online says Kim has lost over 11kg since her pregnancy.
