Ericson networking company recently announced research findings telephone network traffic that each monthly average consumption of mobile platforms. Topping the phone is running Android 2.2 Gb per month - the largest compared to other mobile platforms. Meanwhile, an iPhone only uses about 1.7 Gb monthly. Next, run Windows Phone device has network traffic per month with approximately less than 1.4 Gb. In the United States, according to research by telecommunications analyst Chetan Sharman , the average Android phones use about 4GB of mobile data per month. This figure is greater than 1.2 GB of data compared with the average monthly mobile phone from across the United States.

The reason why Android phones use more data traffic than other operating systems, Sharman explained that: "The Android phone with a large screen means that the image file and video downloads the number of pixels will be more, of course, is also greater capacity. " Also Sharman also launched another factor is Android application management less efficient than iOS. Sharman said many Android application runs in the background and can continuously collect data about the location of the handset. In addition, Android users can not update the system regularly as users of Apple iOS. Therefore, the Android phone can not receive patches to improve application management and network data consumption.

A data analysis expert independent telecommunications worked for Ovum's Jan Dawson also made comments about mobile data traffic that consumes the operating system. According to him, the figures also reflect the user's preferences when they choose the Android phone instead of the Apple iPhone. Those who use large screen Android phones tend to not use the tablet, while iPhone users often need to use more iPad and exploit a larger amount of content.

According to Dawson, the biggest problem here is how to best manage the amount of data that mobile phone consumption. Although the network is to provide data management tool use, but the tight control of data is not an easy job. Another positive aspect of the number of Ericsson's research community using Android phones are immense and might also develop in the future.
