Delegates abandon Confab to attend Jonathan’s ‘daughter’ wedding

The rush by delegates to attend the marriage ceremony of a daughter of President Goodluck Jonathan raised unease among some delegates who frowned that conferees abandoned national issues for socializing.

About half of the delegates abandoned proceedings Thursday to enable them travel to attend the wedding coming up, Saturday, March 5, 2014 in Bayelsa State.

When the conference chairman, Justice Idris Kutigi called for contributions to the debate of the President’s speech, many of the delegates were not around as their seats were empty.
The immediate past Minister of Education, Prof. Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufai (Jigawa) and former Head of Service, Engr. Ebele Okeke were among those who took permission to speak ahead of their scheduled slots to enable them go ahead for the ceremony.

Wife Arrange Her Own Kidnap to Extort Cash from Her Husband

A young housewife who's crazy about money but was not getting as much as she wanted from her husband has been arrested by men of Nigeria Police in Delta after they discovered she arranged her own kidnap.

33-year-old Grace Obi is said to have, along with an accomplice, faked her own abduction in a bid to extort some good money from her husband. She was found out and arrested, and so was her accomplice, after all the investigations conducted by the police indicated the kidnapping is fake.

Weeks after a ritualist den was discovered in Soka, Ibadan, another one has been discovered under a bridge close to the gate of a popular Cement Company along the Abeokuta Lagos Expressway. A man from Ado-Ekiti Ekiti State who had lived as a mad man in the Iyana Egbado village in Ewekoro LGA of the state was seen carrying a nylon bag yesterday in a suspicious manner. Residents of the area decided to find out what was in his nylon and upon tearing it, it was discovered it contained decayed human intestine stained with blood. He was about to be lynched but was quickly saved and whisked away by men of the Ogun State Police command. The suspect later took the police to his hideout where sliced pieces of human parts, plastic containers filled with human blood, ladies pants, brassiers, ladies and men shoes, blood stained dresses and duvet, knives, various non-functioning electronics parts & assorted soft drinks were found. Continue He confessed that he operated with four other people including a woman who has been with the syndicate for 9 months and has been operating from the Ewekoro axis of town. Nigeria, 5 other countries, have largest numbers of extremely poor people

The World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim, while addressing participants at the Council on Foreign Relations, CFR, meeting in New York on Tuesday April 1st, said five countries, including Nigeria, make up two-thirds of the world's extremely poor people.
“The fact is that two-thirds of the world’s extreme poor are concentrated in just five countries – India, China, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. If you add another five countries — Indonesia, Pakistan, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Kenya – the total grows to 80 percent of the extreme poor.”

Police Discover Another Baby Factory In ABIA STATE, Arrest Its Owner

Shocking But True!, One more baby factory was discovered by the Abia State Police Command at Umuabuwa village in Osisioma Local Government Area of the state.

The Imo State Police Command was rescuing 16 pregnant girls aged from an illegal orphanage that operated in the guise of an NGO, November 2013

The operator of the "Osu Abuwa" baby factory, Mrs. Comfort Osu Abu, was arrested and interrogated.

Mrs. Abu used her home as the shelter for pregnant teenagers and women whose children she sold to potential purchasers.

The process of child adoption was illegal as it didn't correspond to the procedure stipulated by law.

It became known that the woman was involved in the illegal child trafficking business for many years.

The police also arrested a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Blessing Iheanacho, on charges of conspiracy to cover a pregnant woman, Chidinma Okeke, with the intent of adopting her baby on delivery.

The couple who were childless after 18 years of marriage, have contracted Chidinma to get pregnant and kept her at Comfort's home in order to adopt her baby when the the time comes.

Reports claim that Chidinma gave birth to a baby boy in an undisclosed hospital in Aba.

Also a pregnant girl, Miss Ozuchi Chinasa, who was also harboured at the "Osu Abuwa", was rescued during the raid.
