Fast & Furious 7 Filming Put On Hold Indefinitely Following Paul Walker’s Death
Production has temporarily ceased on Fast & Furious 7 after one of its actors, Paul Walker died in a car accident on Sunday.
Universal Pictures has not said when filming of Fast & Furious 7 could resume, but the movie’s shoot in Atlanta went “dark,” or stopped filming, on Monday and Tuesday.
The actor’s death on Saturday of a car crash north of Los Angeles has unleashed an outpouring of support in Hollywood for the actor.Mr. Walker was at work on the seventh movie in the hugely successful car-racing franchise. Universal has not said whether it still plans to release the movie on July 11, 2014, but making that deadline would have been tight under normal circumstances.

Franchises are hardly a rarity in Hollywood, but it’s uncommon to find one with the longevity of theFast & Furious series. The Fast and the Furious, from 2001, kicked off the series, which has steadily grown into a global phenomenon that consistently banks hundreds of millions of dollars in worldwide grosses for Universal.
