This is why we make a deal when people get engaged
because proposing is always hit and miss. In this case the girl didn’t
miss though.

1. Minimize Television Watching – This is a hard sell. People love
vegetating in front of the television, myself included more often than
I’d like. The problem is watching television doesn’t use your mental
capacity OR allow it to recharge. It’s like having the energy sapped out
of a muscle without the health benefits of exercise.
Don’t you feel drained after a couple hours of TV? Your eyes are
sore and tired from being focused on the light box for so long. You
don’t even have the energy to read a book.
When you feel like relaxing, try reading a book instead. If you’re
too tired, listen to some music. When you’re with your friends or
family, leave the tube off and have a conversation. All of these things
use your mind more than television and allow you to relax.
2. Exercise – I used to think that I’d learn more by not exercising
and using the time to read a book instead. But I realized that time
spent exercising always leads to greater learning because it improves
productivity during the time afterwards. Using your body clears your
head and creates a wave of energy. Afterwards, you feel invigorated and
can concentrate more easily.
3. Read Challenging Books – Many people like to read popular
suspense fiction, but generally these books aren’t mentally stimulating.
If you want to improve your thinking and writing ability you should
read books that make you focus. Reading a classic novel can change your
view of the world and will make you think in more precise, elegant
English. Don’t be afraid to look up a word if you don’t know it, and
don’t be afraid of dense passages. Take your time, re-read when
necessary, and you’ll soon grow accustomed to the author’s style.
Once you get used to reading challenging books, I think you’ll find
that you aren’t tempted to go back to page-turners. The challenge of
learning new ideas is far more exciting than any tacky
suspense-thriller.
4. Early to Bed, Early to Rise – Nothing makes it harder to
concentrate than sleep deprivation. You’ll be most rejuvenated if you go
to bed early and don’t sleep more than 8 hours. If you stay up late and
compensate by sleeping late, you’ll wake up lethargic and have trouble
focusing. In my experience the early morning hours are the most tranquil
and productive. Waking up early gives you more productive hours and
maximizes your mental acuity all day.
If you have the opportunity, take 10-20 minute naps when you are hit
with a wave of drowsiness. Anything longer will make you lethargic, but
a short nap will refresh you.
5. Take Time to Reflect – Often our lives get so hectic that we
become overwhelmed without even realizing it. It becomes difficult to
concentrate because nagging thoughts keep interrupting. Spending some
time alone in reflection gives you a chance organize your thoughts and
prioritize your responsibilities. Afterwards, you’ll have a better
understanding of what’s important and what isn’t. The unimportant stuff
won’t bother you anymore and your mind will feel less encumbered.
No doubt, This Short Superstar is truly The Chairman, Even after he lost

Brymo has decided to quit with his record Label, Chocolate City. This
latest development occurs barely two months after former label mate
Jesse Jagz walked away from the company.
HipHopWorld has it on reliable information that the “Ara” singer
officially parted ways with ‘Choc City’ over the weekend; but both
parties have managed to keep a lid on the issue until now.
Brymo has been rumored to be not-so-friendly with some members of
the Choc family; and apart from the business side of things, it doesn’t
seem like ‘The Son of a Kapenta’ will be sorely missed by his remaining
label-mates.
Chocolate City now only has M.I and Ice Prince left as its established acts.
This is a good development coming from the Osun State University,
UNIOSUN. The University recently approved the appointment of their first
set of 1st Class graduates as Graduate Assistants (Lecturers).
The Management of Osun State University has approved the appointment
of its first set of first-class graduates. They are eight in number and
they have been given employment as Graduate Assistants into the various
Colleges of the institution.
These scholars include:
Mr. Adams Kashif Ololade,
Mrs Adekunle Adejoke O (Nee Salami),
Mr. Durowoju Olufemi Sunday,
Miss Fakanbi Oyepeju Ibukunoluwa,
Miss Odesanmi Oluwatosin Rachael,
Mr. Oladeji David Oluwayomi,
Mrs. Olojido Oluwatoyin Esther and Omodunbi Olumide O.
This is a good way to encourage excellence in students. I know some
schools that do this every session and we can only hope more schools
adopt this in order to get the very best into the lecturing jobs and to
encourage students to strive to succeed.

A bus preacher was almost lynched on Saturday morning at Toyota Bus
stop, in front of the popular Ladipo Spare parts market, when some
condoms allegedly fell out of his bible as he preached the ‘Word of
God’.
DailyPost gathered that the self acclaimed Man of God was dragged
out of the commercial bus and beaten into a pulp before he was rescued
by some policemen.
According to information made available to DailyPost, the Pastor had
embarked on his journey from Apapa and proceeded to preach to the
people on the bus, using very strong words like “If you wear trouser
you’ll go to hell! The Devil invented Make up! Weave-on is from Marine
Kingdom! If you have pre-marital sex you will burn in hell and your skin
will peel!”
It was learnt that the people in the bus were so moved and some started falling under the anointing.
According to an eye witness, Mr. John Mbakogu, who was on his way to
his shop at Ladipo, “People were just falling as he was laying hands.
One man almost fell out of the bus under the influence of the Spirit. It
was amazing until he raised his hands to cast the demons out of one
girl, and 2 Durex condoms fell out”
“The angry men in the bus who had been having pangs of guilt due to
the pastor’s preaching about sex suddenly got really angry and pounced
on him, who all of a sudden started shouting, I also preach safe sex!
Safe sex is good!”
However, Policemen had to be called to the scene to save the pastors
life. So far 2 arrests have been made, and the Condoms have been kept
as evidence.

Scientists are finding that there is a relationship
between what a mother eats and her child’s IQ. Using women in Britain
for the study, researchers concluded that women who eat less fish had
kids with lower IQs than those whose mothers ate plenty of fish.
Study
leader, Margaret Rayman, of the University of Surrey worked with
colleagues at the University of Bristol to study mothers and children
and their urine samples. In the samples, they were seeking iodine
concentration, which tells them how much fish the mother ate during
pregnancy.
After the first leg of the study, the researchers
checked the IQs of children at age 8 and reading ability at age 9.
That’s when it was determined that two thirds of pregnant women were
iodine deficient.
Mothers with the lowest levels of iodine had kids with the lowest IQs.
“Our
results show the importance of adequate iodine status during early
gestation and emphasize the risk that iodine deficiency could pose to
the developing infant, even in a country classified as only mildly
iodine deficient,” the researchers concluded. “Iodine deficiency in
pregnant women in Britain should be treated as an important public
health issue that needs attention.”
While the study showed that
the women who ate fish during pregnancy positively affected the IQ of
their children, there is still a risk when women who are pregnant eat
fish and seafood. Fish is commonly the cause of many allergies and also
the cause of food poisoning when it is not correctly stored and cooked.
Caution must be exercised when pregnant women consume fish and other
seafood.
Apryl Michelle Brown had black-market silicone injections which turned out to be BATHROOM SEALANT.
It left her in agony and led to her losing her hands and feet, as well as her buttocks. The 46-year-old former hairdresser blames “vanity” and wants to warn others of the terrible dangers of such illegal treatments.
Apryl said: “I’ve paid a terrible price for vanity and I’ll pay for the rest of my life. But I blame no one but myself.
“I want to share my story to warn others about these so-called ‘quick fix’ surgeries. “I
didn’t realise the dangers. I thought it was a harmless injection that
would give me the perfect bottom. But the reality was the silicone used
wasn’t suitable for humans. It was, in fact, bathroom sealant only
suitable for DIY.
“My body had a massive allergic reaction to it which left me at the brink of death. “I
was in so much agony that, by that point, dying would have been a
release. The only way doctors could save my life was to amputate my
buttocks, my hands and feet.”
Teased as a child about her “pancake” bum, Apryl vowed to buy a shapelier one when she was older. She said: “I didn’t know if I wanted mine to look like Janet Jackson’s or J-Lo’s.
“I didn’t even know how you could do it. I just wanted a new, bigger bottom.” The moment that changed her life came in 2004, when two women walked into her successful beauty salon to get their hair done.
One of them ran “pumping parties” — where unqualified practitioners inject illegal silicone into “patients” at their home.
Apryl, from Los Angeles, said: “One of the women told me how she had given bottom injections to the friend who was with her.
“I
remember thinking it was a miracle she’d walked into my life. Her
friend showed me the work she’d had done and it looked great.
“In a split second I made the decision that I was going to go to this woman and let her inject silicone into my behind.” More from source...
The management of Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri has expelled about
60 students of the institution including those in final year for making
below 1.00 grade points.
Those who made above 1.00 but below 1.5 grade points for the 2011/ 2012 session were asked to repeat.
The acting Vice Chancellor of IMSU, Professor Ukachukwu Aloysius
Awuzie said the Senate of the Institution initiated the measure in order
to encourage seriousness.
Professor Awuzie explained that they want to be sure that Imo State
University Owerri regained its position as one of the best universities
in the country.
He said the society will not be better if schools continue to graduate students who cannot defend their certificates.
Some students commended the authority for the new policy and
stressed that the leadership of Professor Awuzie and students of Imo
State University must work hard to learn and merit their certificates.
The students argued that the notice came too late as the institution had started exams.
They maintained that the school’s management should rescind the
decision and allow everybody to continue; stating that it was at the
detriment of any student who graduates with poor result.
