Super Eagles coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi has resigned his appointment after leading the team to the second round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking after the Eagles were eliminated by France in the round of 16 match in Brasilia, Monday, the Delta State-born tactician said it was time to move on after leading his country’s national team to the Africa Nations Cup trophy last year and the ongoing World Cup in Brazil.
“I have to go back to my family and face fresh challenges,” Keshi said.
Similarly, Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo said he has had enough and can go no further as national team player.
“I think I should give the younger ones the

Tiwa Savage fights Airport staff for being rude to her
At the Murtala Mohammed International Airport last Monday, Tiwa allegedly descended on a member of staff of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company who she said was “rude” to her.
Tiwa and some other Nigerian artistes were on their way to Mauritius on board an Emirate flight when the incident occurred.
16-yr-old girl Allegedly Gang-raped by 16 Men in Port Harcourt
A sixteen- year-old girl (names withheld) was allegedly gang-raped by 16 adults, after taking some alcoholic drink laced with unknown substance at a party in Ogbunnabali area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. And according to NigeriaTribune, three of the 16 suspected rapists, Tambari Dumlesi (40), Ikechukwu Akah (22) and Friday Esau (27) have been arrested, while the remaining 13 suspects are still at large.

8 months pregnant Olympian runs 800m race
28 year old Olympian and five-time U.S. national champion Alysia Montano ran an 800m race at the Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California, yesterday and people are now questioning if it's safe.
Alysia received a standing ovation after completing the race in 2 minutes, 32.13 seconds, 35 seconds slower than her personal best of 1:57.34, which she smashed back in 2010 in a race in Monaco.

Super Eagles boycott training over bonus money
Super Eagles players reportedly missed a scheduled training session yesterday after a disagreement with officials of the National Football Federation over bonus money.
BBC Sports reports that the players believe they are each $15,000 (£8,800) short of what they were expecting for reaching the last 16 in Brazil.
The players refused to train in Campinas on Thursday and NFF officials later confirmed the session had been cancelled.

Reports have been flying all over the social media space this afternoon that Ghanaian football stars Keving Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari are being booted out of the Black Stars Brazil camp for indiscipline. According to multiple reports, Muntari slapped Ghana Management Committee member Moses Armah Parker after a heated argument, and Boateng is said to have insulted some of the coaching staff including the head coach, Kwasi Appiah during a training session.

Mysterious Snakes, Bees Attack Boko Haram Camp; Kill Many
MAIDUGURI—Some members of the Islamist sect, Boko Haram, arrested yesterday at Mairi ward behind University of Maiduguri by members of the Civilian JTF vigilante group, have confessed that most of them are fleeing the Sambisa Forest to areas across Borno State owing to what they believe is spiritual attacks from mysterious snakes and bees, which had killed many of their leaders.

Dozens of suspected members of Boko Haram sect on Tuesday June 24th carried out a deadly attack on a military post in Bulabulin Ngaura in Damboa LGA of Borno killing 16 soldiers, Punch reports.

Students flee UNIJOS over bomb scare
Pandemonium broke out today at the University of Jos in Plateau state following an alleged sighting of a male suicide bomber in the school premises. Students and lecturers all took to their heels on hearing the rumor. (It's almost funny but its too serious). According to reports, some of the students summoned courage and apprehended the alleged suicide bomber, beating him almost to a pulp before he was saved by security officials.

Ekiti Governor-elect Ayo Fayose still has a case to answer - EFCC
Ayo Fayose may have won the election in Ekiti state but he still has a corruption case to answer, this is according to EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren.
Speaking with Punch Yesterday, Mr. Uwujaren said Fayose's election has not affected his ongoing trial at the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti, for alleged corruption.

According to a report on NTANetwork, about sixty girls between the ages of 3-12 years have been abducted by insurgents in Kummabza village of Damboa local government area of Borno State.
Plane flying from Nigeria to Gabon missing
A four-seater plane flying from Nigeria to Gabon via Cameroon has gone missing. The plane, owned by US company, Global Aviation, took off from Kano Airport around 6pm yesterday Monday June 23rd and was billed to make a stop over at Doula Cameroon before continuing to Gabon to arrive at 11pm but it never arrived at Doula, Cameroonian Aviation authorities have said. Only an American pilot was on-board.
The Gabon Aviation authorities say the last contact they had with the plane was when it was in Mongo which is a 2-hour flight from the Cameroonian economic capital. Search & Rescue operation has so far not yielded any result but the search operation still continues.

INEC declares Ayo Fayose winner Of Ekiti Governorship Election
Former Ekiti state governor and PDP flag-bearer, Ayo Fayose, has been declared winner of Saturday June 21st Governorship election in Ekiti state by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
According to results collated by INEC, Ayo Fayose pulled a total of 203, 090 number of votes to beat incumbent Governor and APC candidate, Kayode Fayemi, who scored 120, 433 while the candidate of the Labour Party, Bamidele Michael Opeyemi scored 18,135 votes to come third.

LASU reopens June 23rd
The management of the Lagos State University, LASU, has announced the resumption of academic activities in the school. The school re-opens June 23rd after it was shut down following weeks of students' protest over increase in school fees. The school fees have since been reduced.

The Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, Fulvius Rusticu, yesterday June 19th revealed plans by the Italian Government to repatriate 700 Nigerian prisoners currently serving jail time in Italian prisons.
